Helichrysum seeds for dried flowers, mix of colors
Helichrysum, also known as immortelle, is one of the most popular plants for drying. Its unique paper flowers in a mix of colors - from warm shades of red and yellow to subtle pastels - are perfect for creating colorful bouquets and decorations. Blossoms retain their shape and color for a long time, making them an ideal choice for dried arrangements.
Helichrysum cultivation
- Sowing: sow blanket seeds from late March to April. You can do it directly into the ground (in May) or prepare seedlings in pots or sowing trays, set in a bright and sheltered place.
- Substrate: The plant grows best in a permeable, moderately fertile soil. Sow the seeds about 0.5 cm deep and gently cover with a thin layer of soil.
- Germination: Blossoms need moderate heat to germinate. Provide them with a temperature in the range of 16-20°C.
- Quilting: When the seedlings reach a few centimeters and produce their first leaves, quilt them into separate pots.
- Planting into a permanent place: When the risk of frost has passed (usually in the second half of May), transplant the blanket plant to the garden or to larger pots on the balcony or terrace. Choose a sunny position - the plant loves warmth and does well in drier soils.
Helichrysum bloom from July to October, delighting with their multicolored, long-lasting flowers, which are great for both fresh and dried bouquets.
Helichrysum are flowers that we grow and dry ourselves in our gardening - they are one of our favorite plants! We adore them for their durability and unique character that enriches our compositions. You can find more tips about growing and drying flowers on our Instagram secca_driedflowers.
