Craspedia globosa seeds for dried flowers
Craspedia globosa, or ball craspedia, is an ideal species of ornamental flowers for drying. It is an annual plant with a unique spherical, intense yellow inflorescence, which retains its color even after drying. It brightens up garden beds with its unusual appearance and adds uniqueness to dried bouquets. It will also work great as an independent decoration in a vase.
Craspedia globulus cultivation
- Sowing: sow kraspedia seeds from the end of February to the end of March. You can use sowing trays, seedpods or pots, setting them under cover, such as in a greenhouse or plastic tunnel.
- Substrate: Plants prefer a light, permeable substrate. Sow the seeds to a depth of about 0.5 cm and gently press them into the soil - it is important that they have access to light.
- Germination: Keep the temperature at 18-22°C, which promotes rapid and even germination.
- Quilting: After the first leaves appear, quilt the seedlings into separate pots for better development.
- Planting in the garden: Once the risk of frost has passed (usually in May), transplant the plants into the garden or into larger pots outdoors. Craspedia grows best in sunny sites with well-drained soil.
Craspedia blooms from July to September, pleasing the eye with spherical, yellow inflorescences, which are perfect for drying and using in bouquets. It is a simple plant to grow, resistant to diseases - it should not give you too much trouble ;)
